Hello There

Hi! I am terribly sorry for the extremely long wait for my next post. I have been so busy with school, ice skating, friends, and everything else that happens in my little life. Well, ice skating is great! I ended up not participating in the competition because my coach said I wasn't quite ready. But that's okay! Now I'm going to perform in my Christmas show! I'm really exited because I have an awesome part as a jester and a flower. Oh, and by the way, we're performing The Nutcracker. It's going to be a blast! :]
School is insane. Homework, friends, skating, boys. I don't think I can keep up with all of it! Friends are amazing though. I feel like I can do what ever I want around them and just be myself. It's the most amazing feeling I've ever had! The homework, however, is killing me! Algebra, english, us history, and science are all unbearably hard and all decided to give the largest assignments ever! It'll be hard, but i'll make it through.

all my love and greatest wishes,

brooklyn

Autumn's in the Air

I am so terribly sorry that i haven't blogged in so long. With school and homework and friends and projects and ice skating and softball and everything else in the world, my life has been a little busy. But anyway, Autumn is in the air and i couldn't be happier. Just the thought of Halloween and costumes makes me get all jittery and exited for the fall. I also adore when the leaves turn red and delight your eyes with color. It truly is an amazing sight to behold. Well, I have also been as great as ever. I tried out for a solo part in the Christmas ice skating show. I thought it went great! Earlier that day, while I was warming up and just on the ice, I lost my skating music for my try-out. It was absolutely mortifying. Even though i had a back up CD it still wasn't the same. I was the next performer to go when Ali (my skating coach) rushes on to the ice waving a bright orange CD in the air. It was my CD!! A rush came over me and i wasn't nervous any more, I was exited, happy, and confident. I nailed my audition and I find out where I placed in one week. Greatest feeling ever! Well, have a great day and don't be sad over the silly little things in life. Cherish the small blessings every day.

when it rains it pours

Sometimes in life it rains. You can stay inside, doing nothing, waiting for it to stop or you can learn to except the fact that you can't do anything about it. Instead you throw on a rain coat, some boots, and a happy attitude and dance in the little individually packed gifts from heaven. See, rain can be a beautiful thing if you decide it can be.

The Life of Brooklyn

Here is my week...
  • Monday: strait from school to the ice rink as I attend my private skating lessons (competition coming up so it's practice practice practice)
  • Tuesday: First softball practice of the season. So exited!!
  • Wednesday: French lessons and church activities take up most of my day.
  • Thursday: Surprise vacation to Midway! Swam in a crater, unusually enjoyable.
  • Friday: Come back from Midway (Short trip I know) and repel down a mountain. Way less intimidating then I was expecting.
  • Saturday: Yet to come.
  • Sunday: Yet to come also.

There are some other sort of exiting things going on in my life such as... summer is only one month away, my sister is getting a bird, I am starting to speak another language (French if you must know), I will star in an ice skating competition, and at the moment life is as close to perfect as it can get. The End.

I Truly Can't Explain It.

I am having the most wonderful feeling right now, but unfortunately, I have no idea how to explain it. Well first let me tell you how I got so exited and jumpy... It was 2:30, last class of the day and I was pumped. Why you ask, because at 2:35 I get to find out if I made it into Yearbook Staff! Okay, just calm down, you can make it, you can make. 2:32. Just hold on for a couple more minutes then you can freak out. Every thing's fine and you can make it. 2:34. Oh who are we kidding! I'm freaking out!!!!! 2:35. Sprinting down the hallway and dodging anything that got in my way. Bolt in the cafeteria to find that I'm early and have to wait another 3 minutes. Can I get any more anxious, I think not. Finally they call us over to the table to claim our envelopes and, at last, see if our effort paid off. 2:39. I anxiously open my letter but slowed it down for effect. I looked at it with searching eyes, trying to find those few words, Congratulations, you have made it into Yearbook Staff. Suddenly I caught it. 2nd paragraph, 1st sentence. There it was, beautifully typed in gorgeous black print.
That was the moment i started to feel a strange, unfamiliar feeling. It's not a bad feeling, no no no. It's a wonderful, glorious feeling that makes you smile and laugh without warning. It's the best feeling in the world.

Canadians love Hockey, trust me I should know

I don't know about you, but I personally love P.E. It's probably the best thing that ever happened to school. We just started the hockey unit, so being Canadian and all it's sort of in my blood. (my mom says that's a cheesy line but I say it's true) My team and I pretty much dominate, all but today of course, we lost our second game 0-1. It was a sad and tragic loss. That didn't put us down though. For the rest of the time we creamed every single other team we were up against. It made me proud not only to have such friends, but also to have such a great team that can work together no matter what. The only thing that put me down a little bit was, the team that we lost to you know, they were mean and ruthless. I know it's good and all to be a little competitive some times but these guys were hitting people with sticks, smashing fingers, and glaring at everyone. All over a small game of P.E hockey. I know I shouldn't judge, so I won't, but I don't think they should have a change in their personality when it comes to sports. If they're nice when you talk to them at lunch or pass them in the hall then they should be nice when you are playing against them in a sport. Anyway, overall it was an awesome day.

i have a confession

A few thoughts of miss brooklyn j...
Sarah: sweet and easy to talk to. she understands and tells you things will turn out all right even if she thinks they won't. she can't hold a grudge even if her life depended on it. Sarah is an uncontrollable, wild child that loves to party and cheer for the Eagles. it's hard not to love her and impossible not to smile when she's around.
Sophie: lovely and gorgeous. no matter what she wears or how she does her hair, she makes the super models feel jealous. Sophie is as magnificent on the inside as she is on the outside. She never talks badly about you or acts sassy or snobby. She is well opinionated and not afraid to speak her mind. What's not to love about this girl.
Nikki: Man can this girl party! Filled with love, passion, cheerfulness, joy, smiles, and some bruises here and there. Her laugh is contagious as well as her ninja moves. Don't compete with her in a ninja destruction or you will leave with complete self defeat and maybe a bruise or two. If you are her friend there is nothing in the world that can change that. No questions.
Erin: A spitfire in the making. i like it. Under all that sass, cuteness, charm, cleverness, and many MANY good times, she is a world famous actress/singer waiting to happen. Her outrageous talent and incredibly amazing singing voice boost her to the top of the totem pole. no joke. She makes you laugh, cry, scream, smirk, and sit there in aww all at the same time. Erin will blow you away.
Courtney: No matter how ridiculous the joke or stupid the phrase, Courtney's laughing at it. She finds everything funny and nothing serious. You love her all the time no matter how obnoxious. She is an amazing dancer and loves it with all her heart. You can tell she puts her heart and soul into every performance. She's a fantastic girl and never thinks twice when it comes to hanging out or partying. I love her. What more is there to say.
Brooke: Fun, and totally out of control. i love her with my entire heart and i think she is amazing in every way. She loves a good time and wild parties. She is flattered when a boy texts back and jokes about it if he doesn't! she, guaranteed, will make you laugh even in the middle of a heart break. You are the best and yes, i do think you need mental help. only joking.
Savannah: The sweetest girl you will ever see in your whole life long!! She has a great personality and loves to make fun of you while speaking in a foreign accent. A very respectable person with an amazing attitude to match. Best friends with the amazing Brooke Walker and don't you forget it. Oh yes she did!! Savannah can be a quiet, shy little girl at times, but catch her at the right mood and she's a crazy, dancing rocker. believe me, it has happened.
Mckelle: Crazy. That is the one word that describes the all mighty Mckelle Cahoon. At the same time though, she can be an understanding, loving, passionate friend who will comfort you in time of need. You love her to the very end and don't want to NOT be around her. She is one of the best thing that ever happened to this earth!! I really, truly love her. (not that i don't love any of the other friends mentioned!!)
Olivia: Tolerant, and under control. (most of the time) She loves to joke and play around. Funny, smart, and outgoing. What's not to love about this girl. Olivia happens to live in a funeral home just off of Harvey Blv. She isn't afraid of anything and loves to tell scary stories in her house with the lights turned out. Creepy!! Trust me, I've done it!!

I hope you liked this very brief history of the best friends that ever walked the earth.
